Amazon’s Deal of the Day takes up to 40% off SanDisk microSD cards, flash drives and more

sandisk-64gb-microsd

Amazon deals time! Today’s gold box deal puts another dent into the price tag of premium storage. This time it’s from the SanDisk camp, and they’re taking up to 40% off a smorgasbord of storage options.

In the realm of microSD, their 32GB and 64GB Ultra Class 10 cards are down to .99 and .99, respectively. The “Extreme Pro” versions of these classes with UHS-I / U3 classification are a bit more at .99 for 32GB and .99 for 64GB. The difference between the two sets of cards is in speed: the Class 10 Ultra cards read at speeds of up to 48MB/s, while the Extreme Pro cards’ read/write speed hover around the 90MB/s range (which is good for devices that can record video at up to 4K resolution).

Those looking for more full-sized options can get in on these other great deals:

Sorry folks, no 200GB or 128GB microSD cards on sale just yet, but considering how new they are we wouldn’t hold out for sales on either of them until at least another year passes by. Head to Amazon to check these out if something catches your eye on the list above.

Deal: The first Transformers movie is free to watch on Google Play right now

transformers banner

If you need something to watch this weekend and have yet to see the Transformers series launched in recent years, Google is giving you a good reason to start. The company is offering Transformers for free in their latest promo. To be specific this is the 2007 film that kicked off the live action rendition of one of history’s greatest and most popular intellectual properties.

In case you don’t know what Transformers is about, two alien races of robots — the autobots (good guys) and decepticons (bad guys) — are fighting each other for ultimate dominance. The fight is brought to earth, and the autobots soon find out that they’ll need to call on the courage of the human race to help fend off their foes.

If not for nostalgia, then you owe it to yourself to watch it for the cool factor alone. Oh, and this is a Michael Bay affair, so get ready for explosions. Lots and lots of explosions. Grab it from Google Play right here.

Moto 360 is going for just $165 at Google Play [DEAL]

Moto 360 DSC06981

Just yesterday we told you of a decent deal to get 0 off the Moto 360 at Best Buy, but Google seems to be one-upping that one in a big way. The company has reduced the price of the Moto 360 to just 5 over at Google Play, which isn’t quite 0 off but also doesn’t require purchasing a smartphone to go along with it.

This comes shortly after Amazon lowered the smart watch’s price to just 9 on their online storefront. We’re not sure if these reductions are temporary sales or permanent price cuts, but the fact that we’re stumbling across so many of them at the same time suggests inventory is being moved to make way for a follow-up at some point very soon.

How soon? No one can say as of yet, though recent rumors have told of a possible follow-up in the works by the Lenovo-owned company based in Chicago. We’re almost 100% certain that they’re close to introducing a follow-up before the summer ends, so be sure to consider that when buying this first generation product. Either way, it’s a pretty steep discount that you should take advantage if you’ve been yearning for an Android Wear smart watch and can’t stand to wait any longer. Grab the deal right here.

Deal Alert: Motorola giving free Moto E 2nd Gen (3G) with purchase of a Moto X 2014

Moto E (2nd Gen.) Front Dynamic - Black

The new Moto E on its own is a good value, but if you had your heart set on a second generation Moto X then you’ll be even more pleased with Motorola’s latest proposition. Buying a Moto X will get you the new Moto E for absolutely nothing.

It’s the 3G version, mind you, so if 4G LTE is a necessity then it’s probably not as sweet of a deal. But a free phone is a free phone and it’s hard to argue with .

The new Moto E added a front-facing camera to go along with yesteryear’s 5MP rear camera. You’ll also get a slightly bigger battery at 2,390mAh, 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM and a 4.5 inch 960 x 540 display. This particular 4G-less option does ship with a Snapdragon 200 as opposed to the Snapdragon 410, so be sure to keep that in mind when thinking about its performance.

It’ll ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop, too, so you’ll be good to go on a fairly recent version of Android (5.1 being the most recent). The deal lasts through March 24th so you have a few days to take advantage. Do so over at Motorola’s comfy abode right here.

Deal: Amazon has the Kindle Fire HD 7 for $79 today only

They also have a number of USB 3.0 jump drives on sale, ranging from 32GB to 128GB. You can get those for .99, .99 or .99, respectively. Be sure to check out the full list of goods at Amazon’s site right here if you’re looking to add to your memory pool.

Deal: Amazon giving away Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and 33 other apps and games worth $105

five nights at freddy's

Amazon is celebrating the 4th birthday of their Appstore by giving away a bundle of apps and games for free. There are 34 titles to be had, and the value of it all when normally priced comes out to be about 5.

You might not need to download all 34 depending on your tastes, but there are some pretty good gems here worth checking out. Five Nights at Freddy’s a pretty nice horror game, World of Goo is one of the best and most fun puzzle games out there, and Cut the Rope is always good for quick fun.

You can pick and choose what you want from the selection right here, though don’t forget you’ll need to download Amazon’s Appstore to your Android phone or tablet to get them installed. Dig in!

HTC One M8 DSC06660

Best Buy’s bonus deal of the day is putting up a very good flagship smartphone for just 0 without a contract. It’s the HTC One M8, and while it may not be the newest slab of metal from the Taiwanese company it still holds its own up against more recent options.

The price applies to Verizon, Sprint and AT&T variants, with T-Mobile missing because Best Buy doesn’t sell T-Mobile phones. You’ll get free shipping if you don’t require it to be expedited. There are no strings attached otherwise — go buy one, but do it before the day is over if you want it at this price.

KINGSTON logo

Amazon.com’s deal of the day is all about Kingston today, and they’ve got some pretty good discounts if you’re looking for removable storage. Most of you will care about the collection of SD and microSD cards.

For the former category, there are 16GB and 32GB Class 10 UHS-1 options available for .99 and .49, respectively. They also have microSD options (with SD adapters included) at 32GB, 64GB and 128GB for .99, .99 and .69, respectively.

There are just two downsides:

  1. It’s Verizon only

  2. There’s no 4G LTE

But even if you don’t have Verizon and even if you do need 4G LTE connectivity, why not take advantage? It’s , which you probably spend on half a week’s worth of lunch anyway. Get 4 Avengers-themed cases for free when you buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 [DEAL]

avengers case note 4

Samsung’s really going in with their promotion of the latest Avengers movie, and the latest will be quite nice for those in the market for a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 soon. The company is offering up 4 different Avengers-themed cases whenever you buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in the United States.

No, you don’t get to choose 1 out of 4 — you get all 4! That’s a pretty insane deal, and even if you aren’t an avengers fan you can’t argue with free. It helps that they look badass, with The Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man and Thor all being well represented here. Samsung says the set is worth a retail value of a whopping 0, though we’d argue that only a madman would retail these cases at each — there really isn’t anything special about them other than the Avengers designs.

The promotion lasts through June 1st or until they’ve given 4,300 of these sets away, whichever comes first. All you’ll need to do once you have your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and accompanying receipt in hand is head right here.

Deal: $100 off the Moto 360 at Best Buy and Motorola.com

Moto 360 DSC06981

Motorola is looking to move a lot more Moto 360 units in preparation for the arrival of the new model coming later this year. They and Best Buy have discounted the smart watch to 0, which effectively makes the cheapest option cost just 0.

We’ve fallen in love with a few other smart watches since the Moto 360’s release, but we’d by lying if we said we didn’t still feel it was a smartphone worth buying. The flat tire design can be annoying, yes, but you can do some cool things to alleviate the pain. And it might not have the longest battery life ever or even use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 like all the other cool wrist dwellers, but it holds its own quite well.

You should give our Moto 360 review a read if you’re on the fence, and should you decide to get one you can make your purchase at Best Buy here or Motorola’s site right here.
