The Nexus Player is now officially available for purchase in the UK via the Google Store

The Nexus Player was officially announced and made available in October/November of last year, but it’s only today that our Android friends across the pond can now buy it from the Google Store.

The tiny set top box can now be picked up for a mere 80 quid, allowing you to infuse your television with Android TV smarts. If casual gaming is more your thing, you can also find the official gamepad — sold separately — for a £35.

Deal Alert: Motorola giving free Moto E 2nd Gen (3G) with purchase of a Moto X 2014

The new Moto E on its own is a good value, but if you had your heart set on a second generation Moto X then you’ll be even more pleased with Motorola’s latest proposition. Buying a Moto X will get you the new Moto E for absolutely nothing.

It’s the 3G version, mind you, so if 4G LTE is a necessity then it’s probably not as sweet of a deal. But a free phone is a free phone and it’s hard to argue with .

The new Moto E added a front-facing camera to go along with yesteryear’s 5MP rear camera. You’ll also get a slightly bigger battery at 2,390mAh, 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM and a 4.5 inch 960 x 540 display. This particular 4G-less option does ship with a Snapdragon 200 as opposed to the Snapdragon 410, so be sure to keep that in mind when thinking about its performance.

It’ll ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop, too, so you’ll be good to go on a fairly recent version of Android (5.1 being the most recent). The deal lasts through March 24th so you have a few days to take advantage. Do so over at Motorola’s comfy abode right here.

Nexus 6 now available to purchase at Verizon, but won’t ship until March 18th

Verizon yesterday officially announced that the Nexus 6 would be available for purchase online today. That’s true — you can head right here and order one for 0 on a two-year contract or .08 per month on Edge (9.99 outright if you have the dough to spend).

There’s just one problem, though — it won’t actually ship until March 18th, which is one-day shy of its in-store availability. We’re not sure why Verizon failed to mention this “gotcha” when they announced the device, but if you were hoping to throw your money at them today for the biggest Nexus phone in history and get it in time for the weekend then you’ll be quite disappointed.

Whether you should still pre-order the device is up to you. There’s a slight chance it could ship ahead of March 18th, but Verizon’s backorder dates typically don’t change. For what it’s worth the Nexus 6 is one of the few devices worth waiting for. We gave it a glowing review, and although there were some performance issues early on we’re expecting Android 5.1 (which it’s shipping with) to clear most of that up.

Don’t forget that Verizon’s Nexus 6 will also come with support for HD Voice / VoLTE / Advanced Calling 1.0 / whatever else you want to call it out of the box.
