Big Android BBQ 2015 is happening October 23rd, and it’s sponsored by Google Developers

It’s back, folks. Ideaa — the same folks who brought you the awesome Big Android Meat and Greet in Washington DC earlier this year — today announced that the Big Android BBQ’s dates are set. It’s all going down in Hurst, TX and will take place October 22nd through October 23rd.

The BBQ has grown to be a rich platform for developers and enthusiasts to come together for a good time, learn about Android development, and — well — eat. It’ll feature panels hosted by developers from all over the place, including Google’s very own crop of engineers in Mountain View (in fact, this year’s BBQ is “delivered” by them). You’ll also have workshops, parties, and the grandaddy banner event: some delicious Texas-style barbecue.

Early bird tickets are currently going for , and this will come with a nice “gift” that’s yet to be detailed. Early bird pricing ends May 22nd so you’ll want to get your order in as soon as you can.

You should also note that the early bird ticket will only entitle you to all the standard ticket features (which typically includes access to all panels, Code Kitchens and the BBQ itself). Upgraded tickets — which have yet to be detailed, but typically include perks such as private dinners and cool transportation — will be available at some point soon, and you will be able to upgrade your ticket if you so desire when that time comes.

Other details — such as travel discount packages — have yet to be revealed, though we’re sure Ideaa will be releasing that information in due time. T-Mobile’s next big announcement is happening in New York City March 18th

Quick heads-up, folks: T-Mobile is getting ready to make another big announcement. They’ve even carved out a block of time — March 18th — and a venue in the Big Apple for this one, so it must be something big.

There aren’t any strong rumors floating about, but the invitation’s “This One is a Real Piece of Work” tagline suggests it could be business oriented. Will we finally see Magenta bringing all of the great Uncarrier features over to business customers? That’d be awesome, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. All will be known in about a week and a half so sit tight and we’ll bring you the news as we hear it!

Facebook’s F8 Developer Conference is happening today at 1PM Eastern, here’s where you can watch live

Facebook’s developer conference is going on today folks. I know, grumble grumble, Facebook hate. But as much as you might not like the social network, they’re still pretty big and have made significant strides in the past couple of years to move beyond the likes and shares to become a tech juggernaut. We saw their first big movement with the purchase of Oculus Rift, one of the biggest players in virtual reality who were responsible for getting the world excited about the technology again.

YotaPhone 2 is happening this Spring

If you were one of the many who thought the dual-display YotaPhone was cool, you’ll be happy to know that a sequel is, indeed, on the way. The company reportedly confirmed plans to bring a YotaPhone 2 to market starting this Spring in the United States.

The device will initially be offered through an IndieGoGo campaign there folks can pledge funds and stake their claim to one once they’re ready to ship. There aren’t many details available about the smartphone’s features just yet, but they will reportedly introduce a high-end experience and the phone’s cost will be in the 0 ballpark.

The original YotaPhone (pictured above) introduced a unique take on smartphones that included a traditional display on the front and a fully functional e-paper display on the rear. It allows folks to do basic tasks like checking messages and notifications without having to deal with the drawbacks of keeping a traditional OLED or LCD display powered on.

YotaPhone 2 is said to be coming with full support for LTE on both T-Mobile and AT&T, and the company is working on upgrading the existing firmware to Android 5.0 Lollipop to be ready in time for launch.
