T-Mobile reveals when Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will officially begin rolling out

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 charging table

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 owners on T-Mobile have had it rough. They’ve had to sit and watch as Android 5.0 Lollipop rolled out to the Samsung Galaxy S5 in February, only to hit the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in March. Even though we knew Lollipop was coming (it had already rolled out to the Note 4 on Sprint), it’s only today that we know exactly when we can expect that rollout to begin.

T-Mobile Product Manger Des Smith revealed on Twitter today that Android 5.0.1 Lollipop for the Note 4 (N910) has officially been green lit by T-Mobile, and that a rollout should commence sometime next week. Keep in mind that the update does not include the all new, super streamlined TouchWiz that appeared on the Samsung Galaxy S6 or Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. It likely never will. We also hope all those bugs Lollipop brought to other Galaxy devices have all been ironed out.

As always, you can check the status of software updates via T-Mobile’s Software Updates page here. You excited?

Pre-sales for Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge begin April 1st

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs S5 backs

Quick heads-up to Verizon faithful who have their eye on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge — the company has announced that pre-sales will begin April 1st! Samsung didn’t make it a secret that the device would launch April 10th so Verizon figured they might as well announce their pre-sale event well ahead of schedule, too.

We still don’t know how much you’ll have to pay for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, though recent contest rules have revealed a 0 retail price for the former. Note that those contest rules didn’t specify which storage model the price tag applied to, but we’ll have to assume it’s the base 32GB model for now.

Those are all the details Big Red had to share with us today, but we’ll certainly be digging for more in the days to come. For now, start making plans to siphon off a good portion of your income to pay for one of these once they’re finally available.

Samsung confirms Galaxy S6 US pre-sales begin tomorrow for Best Buy and all major carriers

We’d heard Best Buy was going to have the Samsung Galaxy S6 in their stores beginning tomorrow, and that they were also going to begin pre-sale events at that time. Samsung has come out to confirm that information today as the company has announced the device will not only be available for pre-sale and on display at Best Buy March 27th, but also for all major US carriers — that’s T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and US Cellular. The devices will become available April 10th, Samsung previously announced.

Exact details about pricing and availability of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models will have to come from each carrier, but we know that all five will be offering both the regular S6 and the curved Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless and MetroPCS are also confirmed to be carrying just the regular Galaxy S6. Other retailers who will eventually get in on the fun are Amazon.com, Costco Wholesale, Inc., Sam’s Club, Target and Walmart.

The timing of this pre-sale is very interesting considering HTC just announced the unlocked version of the HTC One M9 would go on sale online tonight. That gives us two very compelling devices to consider going with for 2015 on the very same day. Let the games begin!
