Sprint’s LG G Flex 2 is getting big upgrade since the phone’s launch. It’s version LS996ZV6, and it’ll bring you up to the latest version of Android, otherwise known as Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. That particular release doesn’t bring much new to the forefront, but it does have a long list of under-the-hood bug fixes and improvements that should combine to make for a smoother user experience.
The update also notably brings factory reset protection, which sounds like the remote factory reset function Google created for users who wanted to protect their data after having their phones lost or stolen.
To check for the update simply head to Settings > System Updates > Update LG Software and tap the “Check for Update” button. Be sure you’re on WiFi with an adequately charged battery to make sure nothing goes wrong. Once it’s all said and don’t you’ll be on the latest, stable publicly available version of Android there is. Have at it!
